How Can Thermal Imaging Help My Horse If He Doesn’t Have a Problem?

Thermal imaging is “another set of eyes” to see stressed areas up to two weeks before you are aware of them

Correlated with physical findings and rider/trainer knowledge of the horse, this provides opportunity for earlier intervention.

A regular thermography schedule lets you compare thermal patterns and see changes coming on before compensation causes poor performance or lameness.

Because I am introducing my services to your area for the first time, I am offering a one time only discount first imaging of the complete animal. All images can be downloaded to a memory stick for your personal use.

Scheduling of the first visit should be either late afternoon or the weekends. However, if your experiencing current problems and working with a vet, I will try to accomodate their schedule as well.

Thermography helps even the most experienced horse owners to identify abnormal temperatures in a leg or foot which usually indicates inflammation, a pulled tendon or an abscess. There are however often symptoms of discomfort or poor performance where the horse shows no physical sign of injury.

I will visit you at your stables so that your horse is comfortable in its own surroundings. I do not need to touch or sedate the horse in any way and the inspection is very low key and completely harmless to your horse.

Thermography as a science has many applications, but for horses has 3 main benefits:

Preventative:

• Pre purchase inspection or sale of animal to confirm there are no hidden problems with the horse
• Checking saddle fitting and rider balance
• Monitoring competition horses during training to ensure that no undue stress is placed on the horse which may result in an injury
